ROTA — A Rotational Hair-Drying System
A rotational hair-drying system built for mobility-driven lifestyles.
Compact. Modular. Clean to maintain.
Designed to remove friction from everyday self-care.
ROTA rethinks the hair dryer as a modular system rather than a fixed appliance.
A rotational core connects interchangeable modules, allowing the product to shift seamlessly between everyday use and portable storage — supporting modern self-care rituals across home, travel, and small-space living.

User Journey

The most painful moments are setup and storage — not drying itself.
These two steps directly shaped ROTA’s system design.
Pain Points

Early sketches showed that refining the form alone could not solve users’ real frustrations.
This insight led me to focus on a few critical system changes — rotation, modularity, and cleanability — which are demonstrated in the following key design features.

Charging Method
Seamless bottom charging removes cable clutter and keeps the countertop visually calm.

Magnetic Inlet Attachment
A magnetic intake allows users to clean the airflow path in seconds — extending performance without tools or disassembly.

temperature regulation
A magnetic intake allows users to clean the airflow path in seconds — extending performance without tools or disassembly.

CMF
The CMF palette was designed to reduce visual noise and allow ROTA to live naturally within everyday spaces.
